FLORIA 2010 Festival

My latest images for sale at Shutterstock:

Putrajaya FLORIA Festival, an event showcasing local and international horticulture industries and various tropical flower species, held at the Waterfront, Precinct 2, Putrajaya Malaysia. This event start on 10th July, 2010 until 18th, July, 2010. Admission is FREE. Parking is FREE.

The color richness and refreshing nature of this wonderful event attracted flocks of flower lovers, photographers and event goers come to this colorful event under the HOT bright sunny day. All the visiting patrons are excited when they arrive on the scene and amazed by the flowers arrangement and various mixture of natural colors are simply rejuvenating.

Some come to admire the beauty of various flowers, some as family outing and some come to learn what this event got to offer. Not forgetting, a lot of primary schools also organized their learning trips here to expose their students to this healthy and educational event. Of cause, for photography hobbyist like myself, the reason is "pretty" obvious, lol.

Flowers from Heliconian family are the main theme of this year FLORIA event. Hundreds of heliconian flower species are being showcased here at Putrajaya.

Other beautiful and colourful tropical flowers are also being displayed and decorated, such as various orchids, banana flowers, pitcher plants, gerbera etc.

At the event venue, the organizer are very thoughtful and put in place this big, lovely, air-conditioned indoor pavillion showcasing another flower admiration atmosphere. Needless to say, this is the most welcomed changes for all after an hour or two under the hot sun.

Inside the cooling pavillion, it is full of surprises no less than the flowery scene outside, mannequin models dressed up with various flower decorations,  foreign country participation with their own unique scene design such as taiwan flower cage, japan Zen sand garden, various individual winning artworks of FLORIA 2010 etc.

Some personal interest, i found this cute lady holding an extraordinary camera called lomo fisheye film camera, can't help but asked her permission to take a photo of her holding this cutie.
